About the Company:
East Side Enterprises LLC began as a family-owned business in RI in 1962 under the corporate name of East Side Service Center located on Angell Street in Providence. What started as one gasoline station with an automotive repair facility grew into a chain of gasoline stations in prime locations in RI. An alliance formed with Shell Oil Company in 1993 began what now has become a network of gasoline/convenience stores through RI and MA. Growth is continuing.
POSITION:
Assistant Managers perform many of the manager tasks, usually on the off shift from roughly 2-8 or the hours that are assigned by the Manager, typically when the Manager is off duty. Assistant Managers have demanding property and store image responsibilities, cashier supervisory tasks, training and monitoring responsibility during each shift. Primary among these is cash management, reconciliation of cash and inventory; oversight of regular safe drops and the monitoring of all rules and procedures as detailed in the Assistant Manager Training Manual.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school student or graduate preferred; demonstrated customer service competency; references from prior employment relevant to Assistant Manager Position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- If a smoker, adherence to the company policy about designated smoking areas.
- All shift-based maintenance of work area-including inside and outside building and grounds.
- Age 18
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if necessary to stock shelves, move products, equipment.
- Strict adherence to company dress code including uniform shirt, name tag, and required pants.
- Strict adherence to company policy—no lottery play while on duty.
- Strict observance of company policy and laws regarding sales of tobacco products to minors, and checking identification for anyone appearing 27 or younger.
- Willingness and ability to build and maintain rapport with customers and co-workers.
- Cooperation with work team for the benefit of the company, customers, and managers.

POSITION:
Cashier is an entry level position in the company, but has several work components that are required and will be judged at regular intervals during employment:
Cash Management; transaction competency; customer service and upselling; proper decorum within the store on your shift; welcoming and friendly demeanor to all customers; proper transition including product counts during shift changes; understanding and carrying out lottery functions; and understanding that you are the onsite respresentative of the company and its goals. This list is not all-inclusive but is the gateway to holding and keeping the job.
